Laura Iosifescu
Laura Iosifescu, the Owner of the Multi-Award Winning Laura I. Art Gallery, is truly one of the most inspirational artists in the UK and a great example of courage, strength and endurance and you can see all these qualities through her unique approach to her techniques in painting and sculpture.
"Although I employ numerous methods and materials, my approach to each work of art is surprisingly consistent: I question the assumptions viewers might have about a given medium. I probe the properties of a material, testing its limitations and investigating its very essence.
Growing matter through painting, pushing boundaries, and excelling in my technique is what I love to do when I create.
I wanted to make art with power, something with vitality that will offer people hope, strength when looking at it. Art that doesn’t just stay still but a type of art that cares, that wants to exist, wants to love, to live, breath and dance just like a human.
When people look at my art I want them to see that nothing is impossible.
All her paintings can be sunk in many layers of resin to ensure the paint stays on the surface which will withstand the test of time. You will be able to experience the 3D illusion to another level. It will also make it easy to clean and make it durable.

This is a remarkable piece in the artist’s oeuvre. It depicts autumn and is a heartfelt and emotional response after the death of the artist’s father. It was created in a haze of emotion, which led to its distinctive colour palette. For this reason it is a one of a kind creation £8,000.
The Beautiful Chaos that I Need

A Land with Flowers and Crying Plants
102 cm x 76 cm
Signed painting provided with Certificate of Authenticity
Delivered in a wooden box 115cm/145cm/10cm
This piece is a powerful transitional work that emerged after the From Space series. In it Laura is developing the ideas and techniques for executing her unique visions.
Compositionally, the piece is well balanced and traditional, the ‘crying plants’ are also a novel feature in the work lending depth and intrigue as they demonstrate the artist’s unique ability to manipulate paint.
In a world of sorrow, struggles and pain, flowers bloom even then ,Series 1
She treated hope like flowers, grew a garden in her mind, and even on the darkest days, from her hope the flowers still bloom and the sun still shines.
This painting can be considered a living landscape and this dynamism is achieved through the painting of botanical forms - flowers, leaves, tendrils, landscapes, microcosms - in elaborate layers of oil paint, that come together to form tableaux of shiny, velvety, and rippling textures.

"She treated hope like flowers, grew a garden in her mind, and even on the darkest days, from her hope, the flowers still bloom and the sun still shines."
I use flowers and natural growth as a metaphor to represent life accomplishments in the face of adversity. Flowers only grow from the darkness of the soil. This piece`s aim is to embrace the past and celebrate the new person I have become as a result of the challenges encountered.
I hope this art piece to inspire and remind people of their own achievements and celebrate the journey of transformation.
This painting can be considered a living landscape and this dynamism is achieved through the painting of botanical forms - flowers, leaves, tendrils, landscapes, microcosms - in elaborate layers of oil paint, that come together to form tableaux of shiny, velvety, and rippling textures.
In my work, I love to explore the potential of the paint becoming a life form and a source of energy. Organic shapes of all colours have erupted across the surface. I have created a number of techniques unseen in any other artist’s work, including the use of unconventional tools instead of brushes and also highly elaborate painting techniques using my own designed machines to manipulate paint. If you look closely you will see that I have used quite a complex technique to paint. First I have created structures from paint to stop other layers from falling down. Each layer is supported by another layer of paint securing to a degree the painting from having the paint falling off. The process is quite architectural and engineering from the point of the use of my unconventional machinery to manipulate the material of paint and create intriguing surfaces on the canvas.
These paintings can be framed in frame boxes.

Shifting Continents VI

Despite our tendency to consider Earth as static, it is actually a dynamic and ever-changing planet. It’s simply fascinating how wind, water, and ice erode and shape the land. Volcanic activity and earthquakes also alter the landscape in a dramatic and often violent manner. And on a much longer timescale, the movement of earth’s plates slowly reconfigures oceans and continents. This painting is a reconstruction of the living continent how it breaks apart and reshapes into a new land. This chromatic painting is realized through an arduous mechanical processing and manipulation of paint.

When Laura paints she enters a spiritual and philosophical realm as she experiments with her paint machines building up thick layers of paint on the canvas.
This piece emerged naturally from Laura’s colour experiments and is all about balance and the interplay between the colours, and the nuances of the composition.
Throughout her practice Laura seeks to investigate the question ‘why do these pieces feel so magical and special?’

This presents the prevalence of cannabis in the nightlife of London. Distinctive, thick green marijuana leaves festoon the canvas while geometric lines of glowing light could ambiguously be club or city lights.
Laura wanted to reference the use of drugs in the nightly activities of the city, and in this canvas the weeds can be seen emerging from the city lights.
Exploring Frequencies of Essence
Three Dimensional Abstract Sculpture -Painting on canvas.
I believe we are spiritual energies and this painting is a physical representation of my spiritual self. Multicolored layers of force and life sources are invading this space. Using this ground-breaking manipulation of paint, I strive to embody the very nature of Essence, fulfilling a need to create a connection with the spiritual universe and find the meaning of this world.

In this painting Laura envisioned a magical world with no dangers or threats: a utopia where nature`s plants and creatures lived in harmony. For her this painting embodies her struggle to overcome arachnophobia and to confront her fears.
The work is exemplary of Laura's handling of paint. She is enthralled by the physicality of paint and uses her knowledge of the medium to create these exceptional 3D paintings.
Each work embodies the struggle between the artist's feeling towards her subject matter and the physical properties of paint.

Reflection
Artist: Iosifescu Laura.
Medium: Sculpture. Oil paint and acrylics on canvas.
Year: 2020.
Size: 150 × 121 cm.
Signature: Signed at the back of the painting.
Description:
We are the world, we are the children, we are the flowers, we are green and other colours.
This is an abstract painting whose surface is built up with thick, sculptural layers of oil paint and acrylics placed on mirrors and canvas. My idea is to go beyond the limitations set by real forms and break free.
Living Chemistry
Artist: Iosifescu Laura.
Medium: Acrylic, Manipulated, Resin, Oil on Canvas.
Year: 2011.
Size: 100 × 120 x 5 cm.
Signature: Signed at the back of the painting.
Description: This work flirts with linear type of representation, yet it is made in the most unconventional manner. A transparency and continuous painterly layering is used here; to suggest a type of drowning and submersion. A type of 'corrupted moss' eats its way into and across this work.
